Robert Wayne Scott

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Wayne Scott, affectionately known as Wayne, of Norwood, Georgia, who left us on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on July 2, 1945, Wayne was beloved by family and friends. He will deeply be missed by his loving wife, Faye Scott of Norwood, Georgia, his four devoted children: Lynn Scott Goolsby and her husband Burt of Washington, Georgia, Jimmy Bacon Scott of Washington, Georgia, Arthur Reid Scott of Norwood, Georgia, and stepdaughter, Kelli Hayes of Milledgeville, Georgia, two grandchildren, Lindsey Goolsby Rogers and husband Brantley, and Burt Goolsby II and wife Mallory, six great grandchildren, Brantley Rogers, Brogan Rogers, Liv Rogers, Burt Goolsby III, Maylor Goolsby and Annie Goolsby, brother, Samuel D. Scott of Washington, Georgia, and well-beloved nieces and nephews.

Wayne dedicated many years of his life as the esteemed store manager with his brother, Samuel D. Scott who owned and operated, Griffin Store in Washington, where they spent many hours together and were best friends. Wayne was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Washington, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Samuel Lafayette Scott and Mary Danner Scott and brother, Arthur Edward Scott.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Wayne's life during a graveside service on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11 AM at Resthaven Cemetery in Washington, Georgia. Family will receive friends immediately after the graveside service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Burt Goolsby, Brantley Rogers, Greg Scott, Levi Scott, Logan Scott, Miles Chafin and Grant Chafin.

Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he showed to all those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will be treasured by all.

Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington, Georgia has been entrusted with arrangements for Mr. Robert Wayne Scott.
