Ms. Mary Ann Holliday Bentley, 86, of 186 Bootleggers Lane, entered into rest Saturday morning, June 25, 2016, at Wills Memorial Hospital. Ms. Bentley was born in Wilkes County and had lived in this area for all of her life.She was the daughter of George Otis Holliday and Agnes Gunter Holliday. She taught typing at Wilkes Academy, and later was a para pro for ten years at the Lincoln County Primary School. She was a charter member of the Fort James Chapter of Colonial Dames, was a member of the DAR, and was an avid traveler.She was preceded in death by her brother, George G. Holliday, and by her granddaughter, Anna K. Richards, and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Frank Bentley (Lou), of Washington, and Jack Bentley, Jr. (Angie), of Tignall; one daughter, Becky Bentley Richards (Alan), of Lilburn; five grandchildren, Caci White, Brooke Pearson (Nathan), Ginny Thornton (Brett), Will Bentley (Kimberly), and Ben Bentley (Casie Jo); and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Washington First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating.Committal services will follow at the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery in Washington with Rev. Ficklen Guinn in charge.The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:30-10:45 in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
