Lynda Veazey Pollock

Lynda Veazey Pollock, a cherished resident of Washington, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on Thursday, July 26th, 1945, in Crawfordville, Georgia, Lynda lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family.

Lynda is survived by her beloved son, Inman Curry Hogan III of Washington, GA and her devoted daughter, Anna Carole Hogan of Martinez, GA. She leaves behind her dear sisters, Kathryn Hunter of Washington, GA, and Jacquelyn Butts and husband Mike of Crawfordville, GA. She was the proud grandmother to Nicholas Curry Hogan and was cherished by several nieces and nephews. Lynda was preceded in death by her father, John Gardner Veazey, her mother, Anna Sybil Wheeler Veazey, her husband, Dr.  John Edward Pollock Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Amanda Woods Hogan.

Lynda graduated from the Alexander Stephens Institute in 1963. She dedicated 20 years of her career to Wills Memorial Hospital as a medical transcriptionist and continued her professional journey as a billing clerk at CSRA Home Health Agency for another 21 years until her retirement. Lynda's warmth and kindness touched many lives, and she was known for her passion for flowers and gardening. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took great pleasure in spoiling her grandson.

Lynda was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Washington, where her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Friends and family are invited to honor her life at a visitation, which will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 10-11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Washington. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM, officiated by Dr. Phil Pilgrim and Rev. Manuel Bailey. Lynda will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Hunter, John Hunter, Ed Pope, Andy Veazey, Larry Veazey, Braxton Murchison, and Warren Newsome. Lynda's legacy of love and generosity will continue through donations in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Washington and the Wilkes County Animal Shelter.
