Hazel L. Russell

Ms. Hazel Linnenkohl Russell, 96, formerly of Glen Street, passed away Monday afternoon, April 27, 2020, at Southern Manor Senior Living in Washington. Mrs. Russell was born in Lincoln County, but had lived in Wilkes County most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine Matthews Linnenkohl, and was the wife of the late John Thomas Russell. She worked as the receptionist at the office of Dr. Carlton Hearn Dentistry for a number of years.Ms. Russell was a longtime member of the Washington First Baptist Church. She is survived by four grandchildren, Cynthia Dianne Futch, of Evans, Milton Eugene (Gene) Futch, Jr. (Sharon), of Martinez, John Bounds, (Victoria) of Washington, and Bonnie Elizabeth Bounds, of Bryan, Tx; and by two great grandchildren, Ethan Collier Futch and Lauren Elizabeth Futch.She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dianne Russell Futch and Cindy Russell Bounds. Graveside services will be private due to the ongoing corona virus issue. At the families request, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of your choice.
