Ms. Winnie Sue Armour Thompson, 75, of Ashley Ave., died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at her home. Ms. Thompson was born in Washington, and had lived here all of her life.She was the daughter of Thomas Watson Armour and Cynthiia Mae Franklin Armour.She worked at Clarke Schwebel for a number of years. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, and was preceded in dseath by her husband, Gary Thompson, her daughter, Tammy Thompson, her son, Ken Thompson, and by her sister, Ruth A. Moon.Saturday (July 9) marked what would have been hers and Gary’s 41st wedding anniversary.She loved and lived for her family. She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis B. Anderson (Rohn), of Washington, Cindy B. McCarty (David), Washington, and Regina Pearson, of Anderson, SC; three brothers, Watson Armour (Linda), Washington; Charles Armour, Bowman, and Fred Armour (Nancy), of Elberton; one sister, Janice Browning (Mark), of Winterville; 12 grandchildren, anda number of great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 4:00pm Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Hopkins Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Broom officiating.Interment will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Rayle. Pallbearers will be grandsons:Daniel Braxton, Matthew Braxton. Axll McCarty, Richard Welch, Spencer Wahl, and Mike Driggers. Memorial contributions may be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
