Willie Frank Hopkins

W. F.Hopkins, Sr. William Frank Hopkins, Sr., 89, of Washington, died October 12, 2008 in Wills Memorial Hospital.He was a native of Wilkes County and the son of the late Sydney C. Hopkins and the late Viola Brown Hopkins.He was a retired civil service supervisor in the Naval Shipyard and served his country in the U. S. Marines in WWII and served in the South Pacific.He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Sanders. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Resthaven Cemetery at 11:00am with Rev. Sid Hopkins and Rev. Albert Huyck officiating.Jerry Hackney, Jr., Frank Pittman, Gene Hopkins, Bill Hopkins, III, Spencer Coker and Jim Pixley will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one son, Bill Hopkins, Jr. and his wife, Linda Lucas Hopkins, Marietta; one daughter, Debbie H. Bridges, Arnoldsville; four grandchildren, Bill Hopkins, III, Lynn Dye, Frank Pittman and Chrissie Pittman; and six great grandchildren.
