Mr. William Donald Ware, 88, of 180 Ebon St, Tignall, entered into rest on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Ga. Mr. Ware was born in Wilkes County to the late Duncan and Maude Ware on March 16, 1932.Mr. Ware served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga for 5 years.He also served on the Wilkes County Board of Education for 16 years.He was employed by Sears for many years and became the manager.He also worked for Concord Manufacture.Mr Ware was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Danburg, and was also a member of the Shrine Club of Elberton.He was an active basketball player while in school.Mr. Ware was a member of Tignall Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. Mr. Ware is preceded in death by his son Donald Stacey Ware, sister Lucille Albea and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Ware. Mr. Ware is survived by his wife of 64 years Peggy Ware of Tignall; one son, Scott Ware and wife Kathy of Tignall,and Karen Martin of Lincolnton. He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Stacey Ware and Price Rogers; a brother in law, Thomas Albea, and a niece, Yvonne Albea. Pallbearers will be Shawn Cox, Richard Heard, Jason Dove, Chris Heitmann, Jimmy Harper and Price Rogers. Masons and Shriners will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Tignall Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris King officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Tignall Baptist Church.
