William Lumpkin Walker

William Lumpkin Walker, Jr. born April 8, 1942 left this earth on the morning of Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was a Navy man who served on the USS Hector AR7, was a Master Chef, Nurse, Realtor, Umpire for Women’s Softball, Founder and President of the American Pinochle Association (APA), and was a true Renaissance man. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Beers Walker; two brothers, Don and Jon Walker; three daughters, Tonia Carr, Cheryl Moore, and Virginia Soto; seven grandchildren, Tabatha Harris, Ashley Edwards, Zayne Cranford, Kristen Walker, Marianna Shellingburg, Jessica Soto, and Victoria Soto; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Gavin, and Haileigh Harris. Funeral services will be 1:00PM on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Hopkins Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Rayner officiating.Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.A U.S. Navy Military Funeral Detail Team will perform Burial Honors at the grave.
