William Julius Rousey

Mr. William Julius Rousey, 91, of Washington, passed away March 4, 2014 at University Hospital. A native of Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Thomas Judge and Lula Wheless Rousey.Mr. Rousey was a member of First UMC in Washington and served in the U.S. Army.He barbered in Washington for sixty two years and retired at the age of 88. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 8th at 11:00am in Independence UMC, Tignall, Ga. with Rev. Thomas Hall officiating.Interment will follow in the Independence UMC Cemetery.Bob Hopkins, Chip Hardin, Danny Heard and grandsons, Clay Rousey, Cole Rousey and Cliff Rousey will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Irene Burrell Rousey; sons and daughter in law, Tom and Jane Rousey, Greensboro, NC and Bill Rousey, Washington; grandchildren, Erin Rousey, Clay Rousey, Cliff Rousey and Cole Rousey and his wife Joanna. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Church Children’s Home, 500 S.
