William Johnson

Mr. William A. Johnson, 66, of Washington, died September 27, 2011.A native of Washington, Georgia, he was the son of the late M.L. (Jack) and Rachel Callaway Johnson.Mr. Johnson was self-employed in agriculture equipment sales and repair.He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, September 30th at 1:00p.m. at Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Callaway officiating.Interment will follow in Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens.Vernon Simons, Scott Simons, Ryan Simons, Eric Greene, Tim Shirley and Mike Nelson will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife, Lindia Simons Johnson; daughter, Tami Chalker and her husband Greg, of Richmond, VA; two sons, Russ Johnson and Charlie Johnson both of Washington; one brother, Melvin Johnson and his wife Susan, of Washington. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
