William Ellington

Mr. William Jesse Ellington, Sr., 69, of Lexington Rd. NW, Crawfordville, died Thursday morning at his home. Mr. Ellington was born in Lake Park, GA. He was the son of the late Carmen S. Ellington and Mary Ellen Duke Ellington.He was a commercial plumber, and was the husband of Viola Minnie McCant Ellington. Graveside services will be Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 3:00pm at the Bennett Family Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Corry, Raymond Finney, Scott Shuman, Jason Gentry, Chris Finney, and Wes Jordan. Mr. Ellington is survived by his wife, Viola M. Ellington, of the home; three daughters, Mary Jessica E. Corry (Mike), of Hephzibah, Mellissa Jean E. Finney (Raymond), of Crawfordville, and Crystal Dianne E. Shuman (Scott), of Crawfordville; two sons, William J. Ellington, Jr. (Angela), of Athens, and Michael Ellington (Lisa), of Hephzibah; ten grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Ellington will be lying in state at 2479 Lexington Rd. NW, Crawfordville, GA.Friends may call at this address on Saturday, May 21, 2016, from 1:00pm until 5pm. Memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Ellington’s memory.
