Walter “Bo” Standridge Obituary Mr. Walter “Bo” Standridge, 71, of Orchard St., died Monday at University Hospital. Mr. Standridge was a native of Wilkes County and had lived here all of his life.He was the widower of Martha Foster Standridge, and the son of the late Hubert and Myrtle Pullen Standridge.He was a retired loom maintenance technician in the textile industryand was a Navy veteran , serving from 1955-1959. He was a member of VFW Post #5899, where he was a former Post Commander and where he served as Quarter Master. Graveside services will be Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 11:00 at the Washington-Wilkes Memorial Garden with Rev. Daniel Fernandez officiating.Lewis Echols, Jay Hendry, Robert Edwards, Victor Bailey, D.L. Reynolds and J.R. Suggs will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by three sons, Buddy Standridge (Judy), of Braselton, Mike Standridge (Karen), of Flowery Branch, and Doug Standridge (Lori), of Washington; one daughter, Ramona Carol Howard (Eddie), of Rayle; one sister, Peggy Johnson, of Fortsonia; seven grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
