Virginia Witcraft Virginia Moore Pittman Witcraft, 64 of Raytown, died September 29, 2011. She was born in Washington, GA to the late Nell Owens and Moore Pittman of Raytown, GA. After graduating from Alexander Stephens Institute in 1964, she matriculated to Augusta Business School. She retired from Georgia Iron Works in 2005 after 27 years of loyal service.She also worked at Wills Memorial Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.A life-long member of Raytown United Methodist Church, she served as Communion Steward for over 25 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cared deeply for animals and treasured her granddaughter, Olivia.She was an active member of the Sharon Garden Club. She loved her daughter, Nelanie, her church, and the community of Raytown.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Pittman Chapman. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nelanie and Jeff McAfee of Milledgeville; her granddaughter, Olivia Moore McAfee. Other survivors include her brother-in-law, Terry Chapman of Fairburn; and her nephew, Rev. Jonathan Moore Chapman of Atlanta. She also leaves behind her adored cat, Maggie. Visitation will be at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington, Sunday, October 2, from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Raytown United Methodist Church at 2 pm, Monday, October 3.Rev. Jonathan Chapman will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, 358 Brown Rd., Washington, GA 30673.
