It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Victor Bryan James, age 68, a beloved resident of Appling, GA, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the age of 68. Victor was born on Monday, April 9, 1956, in his cherished birthplace of Washington, Georgia.
Victor had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. He began riding street bikes as a teenager and enjoyed long road trips to the mountains with his friends. As a young adult, he began repairing bikes on the side and would spend long hours in his shop after work and on weekends. He had a down-to-earth personality and easily made friends wherever he went. He was a good listener and withheld judgment which made others feel relaxed and comfortable around him. He was always available if someone needed a strong shoulder to cry on.
Victor was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lee James, brother, Lawrence James, sister, Charlotte Bullard and nephew, Ashley James.
Survivors include his loving mother, Dell McAvoy James of Washington, Georgia, his daughter, Shannon Scott and husband Joey of Thomson, Georgia, a brother, Ronnie James of Washington, Georgia, a sister, Susan Pilgrim of Thomson, Georgia, two granddaughters, Summer Scott and Emma Scott, and two nieces, Savannah James and Bryanna Johnson also survive.
The family invites friends and relatives to celebrate Victor's life and pay their final respects at the funeral services, which will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will commence one hour prior to the service, offering an opportunity to share memories and condolences. Pastor Larron Pilgrim will officiate the services.
Following the service, Victor will be laid to rest in Bethel Church Cemetery in Washington, Georgia.
Victor Bryan James will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit, kindness, and the memories he created with those he loved will forever remain in our hearts.
