Vickie Dianne Mathis

Vickie Dianne Mathis of Rayle, Georgia, passed away on July 31, 2024, at Wills Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 3, 1958, in Madison, Georgia to Edward Lonzo Mathis and Ida Ruth Gilstrap Mathis.

Vickie will be remembered for her laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She enjoyed sitting at home working on crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Vickie is survived by her five children: William Edward Clark, Jr. and spouse Nancy, of Rayle, Rita Calvario and spouse Jose, of Fountain Inn, SC, Shane Clark, Andrew Clark, and Lisa Clark, all of Rayle. She also leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Clark, Sr., and by her parents, Edward Lonzo Mathis and Ida Ruth Gilstrap Mathis.

Graveside services will be at 2:00pm Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Townsend officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Hopkins Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Clark, Rylee Clark, Bill Clark, Jose Calvario, Matthew Wideman, and James Wideman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Clark and Shane Clark.
