Mr. Thomas Marvin Short, Sr., 73, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, died Monday, April 8, 2013 in Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, North Carolina.A native of Rayle, Georgia, he was the son of the late, James and Lucyle Boatwright Short.Mr. Short was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was retired as District Director of the Jacksonville Small Business Administration.He grew up in Rayle, attending Sardis Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 11th in Hopkins Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Emus officiating.Thomas Short, Jr., Eric Romanczuk, Thomas Short III, Hunter Short, Hunter romanczuk and Thomas James Short will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Laraine Emus Short; one son Thomas Marvin short, Jr. and his wife, Sissy of Foley, Alabama; one daughter, Tammy Short Romanczuk and her husband, Eric of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; grandchildren, T.J. Short, Thomas Short III, Amanda Short Bullock, Hunter Short, Brady Short, Logan Short, Matthew Hunter Romanczuk, Erika Romanczuk, and Shane Romanczuk; one great granddaughter, Addison Bullock and one sister, Dorothy Short Gilfillan, Tullahoma, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.
