Timothy E. Purdy

Mr. Timothy (Tim) E. Purdy, 67, of Washington, entered into rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Southern Manor Assisted Living in Washington.

Mr. Purdy was born February 20, 1956. He was the son of the late Burns Ralph Purdy and Millie Sayer Purdy. After high school, Tim graduated from ABAC with a Associate's Degree in Forestry. He formerly was a supervisor for Temple- Inland, Inc. in Thomson. Tim loved people, made many friends over the years and loved his two daughters and their families so much. He was quick witted, loved his friends, and enjoyed having a good laugh. Tim enjoyed college sports, and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his two daughters, Heather P. Wheatley (Paul), of Bishop, Ga., and Crystal P. Jackson (Andy), of Tignall; two grandchildren, Luke Jackson, and Brooklyn Wheatley; and one brother, Randy Purdy (Kathryn), of Greensboro.

Funeral services will be 5:00p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Long officiating.  A PRIVATE committal service will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday (from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m).
