Thomas Simons Thomas Simons, age 81, of Crawfordville, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 3, 2009.He was born August 6, 1927 to the late Julius and Edna Lyle Simons.Thomas served his country in the US Army.He was a member of the VFW Post 5899.He was an avid fisherman and hunter.He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Washington.He loved his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Simons, three brothers, Roy, Steed and Jack Simons and three sisters, Barbara, Mary Dean Moore, and Bertha Howe. Surviving are his daughter Pat Wyatt and her husband, Phillip, of Waynesville; brother, Ralph Simons of Greensboro; sister Lucy Daly of Hampton, VA; granddaughters, Mandy Allen and Her husband, Brandon and Morgan Wyatt; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Sylvia Callaway. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2pm in Sandy Cross Baptist Church, with Rev. Phillip Wyatt officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 12 until service time.
