Thomas Fleming

Mr. Thomas Fleming, 88, of Sardis Rd. in Rayle, died Thursday morning at Greene Point Health and Rehabilitaion in Union Point. Mr. Fleming was born in the Palmetto Community near Carlton, and was the son of the late Will Henry Fleming, Sr. and Mary Mattox Fleming.He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Georgia State Highway Department, and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at 3:00 in the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Newsome officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randy Fleming, Kenneth Wideman, Darrell Standard, David Wideman, Randy Echols, and Bobby Wideman.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the James Short Sunday School Class, of which he was a member. He is survived by his wife, Ann Wideman Fleming, and son, Larry Fleming, both of Rayle; one sister-in-law, Alice Mae Fleming, of Fayetteville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
