Mr. Thomas Alexander Albea, 80, formerly of Forest Lane in Washington, entered into rest Thursday morning, January 20, 2022, at Harper’s Personal Care Home. Mr. Albea was born in Tignall and had lived in Wilkes County for all of his life.He was the son of the late Paul and Sara Smith Albea, and was the widower of Lucille Ware Albea. He was the plant manager for Almar/Essex Manufacturing Company, and had worked there for over 60 years.Thomas was very involved in the W-W Tiger Club, had enjoyed coaching women’s and men’s softball, and was a member of the Danburg Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and as a member of the Church cemetery committee.He had been a member of the Washington Optimist Club for a number of years, and also used to be an avid golfer. He is survived by one daughter, Yvonne M. Albea, of Washington; one brother, Calvin Albea (Ruby), of Elberton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Ware, of Tignall; a son-in-law, Chris Rogers, of Augusta; a number of nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Ware Albea anda daughter, Mimi Albea Rogers. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Danburg Baptist Church with Rev. Ficklen Guinn and Rev. Roger Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the Danburg Baptist Church from 12:30pm until the time of the service (at 2:00pm). Active pallbearers will be Stacey Ware, Scott Ware, Richie DuBois, Andy Henderson, Joseph Edwards, and Chad Safrit.Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Riley, Jack Bentley, Will Bentley, Ben Bentley, and Mark Walker.
