Tammy Stephens

Mrs. Tammy Brackett Stephens, 51, of Dearing, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at home. A native of Thomson, she was the daughter of Judith Walker Brown and the late Samuel Brackett.She lived in Wilkes County most of her life and was a 1980 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Stephens.She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel UMC. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11:00am in the Bethel UMC Cemetery with Rev. Jim Martin officiating.Chris Rushing, Steven Whatley, Jeff Brown, Danny Pilgrim, Matt Huff and Michael Smith will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one son, Jamin Stephens, Dearing; mother, Judith Brown, Washington; one brother, Michael Brown and his wife, Lisa, Thomson; and two nieces, Madeline Brown and Olivia Brown. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 – 10:45am on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or The National Kidney Foundation.
