Sybil Vaughn

Sybil Vaughn Mrs. Sybil Burt Vaughn, 89, of Rayle, died April 28, 2009 in Athens Regional Medical Center.She was a native of Oglethorpe County and the daughter of the late Curtis L. and Lonia Patton Burt.Mrs. Vaughn was a member of Burt’s UMC and a retired seamstress.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Vaughn. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 2:00pm in Burt’s UMC with Rev. Teresa Coleman and Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Tom Parker, Lee Parker, Joshua Parker, Don Harrison, David Burt and Bobby Hawes will serve as pallbearers. Survivors include one sister, Betty Berry, Rayle; one sister in law, Roselle Burt, Augusta; two nephews, Donnie and Kris Berry, Rayle and David and Beverly Burt, Harlem; two nieces, Sandra and Tom Parker, Rayle and Vickie and Bobby Hawes, Augusta; several great nieces & nephews and great, great nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, from 6-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Burt’s UMC Building Fund or Cemetery Fund.
