Shirley Roberson Washington:Mrs. Shirley Sayer Roberson, beloved wife, mother , and grandmother, 73, of Roberson-Campbell Rd., died at her home Friday evening, September 17, 2010, in the presence of her loving family. Shirley was a native of Wilkes County and had lived here most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Cecil Sayer and Lou Belle Harris Sayer, was the wife of Larry Hampton Roberson, and was a homemaker.She was a loving mother and devoted wife to Larry for 57 years.She was an artist, loved gardening and birds and all of God’s creations, but most of all she loved her family.She consciously exuded the fruits of the spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.She exemplified these qualities daily. Graveside services will be Monday morning, September 20, 2010, at 10:00 at the Roberson Family Cemetery with Rev. Albert Huyck officiating. Mrs. Roberson is survived by her dedicated husband, Larry Roberson, of the home; two daughters, Tina R. (Greg) Yarrow, of Clemson, SC, and Lisa Roberson, of Washington; one son, Larry Hampton (Amy) Roberson, of Dayton, OH; one sister, Frances S. Warren, of Hilton Head, SC; and four grandsons, David (Faith) Hopkins, Tryon (Jackie) Hopkins, Mark (Cassie) Saggus, and Larry H. (Erin) Roberson III. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday evening at Hopkins Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Tignall Baptist Church.
