Shirley Compton

Ms. Shirley Nunn Compton, 71, of 106 Walnut St., entered into rest Tuesday morning, January 8, 2019, at Harper’s Personal Care Home in Washington.Ms. Compton was a native of Washington, and had lived here most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Louis Carlton Nunn and Bernice Roth Nunn.She had worked as a caregiver for a number of years, and was a member of the Ficklen Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one son, Robert Louis Wall (Debra), of Washington; one daughter, Valerie Wall Rogers (Bruce), of Washington;one brother, Carlton Nunn (Mary), of Lexington; two sisters, Charlotte N. Damron, Washington, and Faye N. Wells, of Bogart; Five grandchildren, Olivia Rogers, Blake Rogers, Justin Wall, Shelby Wall Goldman, and Hunter Wall; one great grandchild, Kayos Wall; and by two special nieces, Tiffany Damron, and Mikayla Broome. Graveside services will be 2:00pm Thursday, January 10, 2019, at the Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens with Affinis Hospice Chaplain Steven Severs officiating.The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30pm at Hopkins Funeral Home on Thursday, the day of the service. Pallbearers will be Blake Rogers, Bruce Rogers, Justin Wall, Tommy McAvoy, Jeffery Roth, and Sam Nunn.Honorary pallbearers will be Olivia Rogers and Mikayla Broome. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd Blood Center, or to the Affinis Hospice , Watkinsville, GA.
