Sherrill Jones

Mrs. Sherrill Vinson Jones, 71, of Washington, died January 28, 2012 in Trinity Hospital.A native of Washington, Georgia, she was the daughter of Inez Strother Vinson and the late Claude Vinson.She was an excellent seamstress and had worked in various local companies in the textile industry.Mrs. Jones was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Washington and the Belle Williams Volunteer Sunday School Class. In addition to her Father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Vinson and husband Bobby Jack Jones. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 31st at 11:00am in First Baptist Church of Washington with Rev. Kevin Madden and Rev. Brian George officiating.Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Dr. Les Sales, Rick Cox, Jeff Franklin, Jesse Moore, Hugh Keener and Dr. Randy Clayton will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Belle Williams Volunteer Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Survivors include son and daughter in law, Keith and Michelle Pate, Washington; daughter and son in law, Karen and Tommy West, Crawfordville; Mother, Inez Vinson, Tignall; sister, Claudia Pitts, Elberton; grandchildren, Courtney and Cohen Pate, Washington. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Williams Volunteer Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Washington.
