Sara Wheatley

June 19, 1925 — November 7, 2014

Mrs. Sara Hopkins Wheatley, 89, of Washington, passed away November 7, 2014 in Harper’s Personal Care Home.A native of Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Claude N. and Sallie Mae Bailey Hopkins.She was preceded in death by her husband, George Leonard Wheatley and son, Roy Wallace Wheatley.Mrs. Wheatley was retired from The Royal Manufacturing Company and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Claunette and Perry Morgan, of Washington; two sons andthree daughters in law, George Douglas and Sandra Wheatley and Leonard Herman and Amelia Wheatley and JoAnn Wheatley, all of Washington; grandchildren, Lenny and Amy Wheatley, Bruce and Sheila Wheatley, George Morgan, Gerome and Stacey Morgan, Beth and Drew Lamar, Jason and Sarah Wheatley, Greg and Crystal Wheatley, Paul and Heather Wheatley, Amy and Joe Burch; step grandchildren, Doug and Paula Denard and Chuck and Michelle Denard; fifteen great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren;one brother, Roy Hopkins, San Diego, California; brothers in law and sisters in law, Stanley and Katherine Wheatley, Irene and Milton Raffini and Christine Wheatley; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 9th at 3:00pm in Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Cohen officiating.Grandsons, Jason Wheatley, Greg Wheatley, Paul Wheatley, George Morgan, Bruce Wheatley and Lenny Wheatley will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, in the church AFTER the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church Christian Life Center or The Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter, 358 Brown Dr. Washington, Ga.
