Sara S. Gresham

Mrs. Sara Frances Steed Gresham, 93, of Washington, died Wednesday evening at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Gresham was born in Washington and had lived here all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Lewyn Hill Steed and Edna Paschal Steed, and was the widow of William Johnson Gresham.She was a homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Washington, with Revs.Jimmy Newsome, Scott Brown, and Thomas Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Will Johns, Tim Sweatt, Ted Davis, Michael Cain, Mark Gresham, Zachary Harris, and Luke Davis.Honorary Pallbearers will be Mable Johnson, Dr. B. N. Kuppaswamy, Hartrell Pate, Iris Corbett, and Marjorie Tyler. Mrs. Gresham is survived by one son, Johnny Gresham (Lynda), of Marietta; two daughters, Roslyn G. Davis (Tom), of Calera, AL, and Virginia G. Feyerbend (William), of Smyrna; 10 grandchildren, Lynn Johns, Rhonda Gresham, Mitzi Gresham, Mark Gresham, Mathew Gresham, Ted Davis, Beth Cain, Sara Harris, Kim Heiser, and Amanda Sweatt; and 14 great grandchildren.Mrs. Gresham was preceded in death by a son, Tom Gresham, of Washington/Roswell.
