Sara A. Edwards Thomson:Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Albea Edwards, 86, formerly of Newtown Rd. in Washington, died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Thomson Manor nursing Home. Mrs. Edwards was born in Wilkes County and had lived here all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Paul and Sara Smith Albea, and was the widow of Roy Wilbur Edwards.She had worked at Royal Manufacturing Company, and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 3:00pm Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens with Rev.Lester Jenkins officiating. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughter, Beverly E. Allen (Dennis), of Thomson, and by her son, Ricky Edwards (Kim), of Washington; two brothers, Thomas Albea, of Washington, and Calvin Albea, of Elberton; three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Bradley, Thomas Roth, Gene Bridges, Ken Bowers, Mike Smith, Jaxson Edwards, and Trey Cason. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 6, 2016, from 5-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home.
