Sara Cathey

Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Timmons Cathey, 77, of Tignall, died September 6, 2011 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.She was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Noble Sylvester and Sara Barron Timmons.Mrs. Cathey was a graduate of Reinhart College and Georgia Baptist School of Nursing.She also worked as a Postal Clerk.She was a member of Independence UMC in Tignall. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 8th at 11:00a.m. in Danburg Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Walker officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband of fifty four years, Ernest W. Cathey; one daughter and son in law, Claire and Doug Nelson, of Washington; one granddaughter, Miranda Bliss Nelson, of Athens; one brother and sister in law, N.S. and Gladys Timmons, of Sumter, South Carolina. The family will receive friendsWednesday, September 7th from 5-7p.m. at the Funeral Home.
