Samuel W. Ray

Mr. Samuel W. Ray, 91, of Washington, died Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Wills Memorial Hospital.A native of Washington, Georgia, he was the son of the late Timothy and Rosebud Ivey Ray.He was also preceded in death by his son, Samuel Wedford ‘Buddy’ Ray.Mr. Ray was a retired truck driver for Wilkes Mill and Feed.He was of the Presbyterian faith, a champion coon dog hunter and loved the Atlanta Braves. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13th at 11:00am in the Washington-Wilkes Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Broom officiating. Survivors include two grandchildren, Timothy C. Ray, Washington and Margaret Anne Ray Locklair, Thomson; three grandchildren, Dominic Ray, Ft. Collins, Colorado, Hunter Locklair and Madison Locklair, both of Thomson.
