Ruth Maxine Holes

Mrs. Ruth Maxine Younkins Holes, age 96 of Washington, entered into rest on Monday morning, May 1, 2023, at Wills Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Holes was born in South Fork, PA on September 13, 1926 to the late Charles and Ethel Jones Younkins. She was married to the late Rev. Eldon F. Holes. Ruth had worked in education and was a school secretary before retiring. She had been of resident of Washington for the past 30 years and was a member of the Washington First Baptist Church where she taught the Belle Williams Volunteer Sunday School Class for a number of years. Mrs. Holes is survived by one daughter, Margaret Jane MacLeod (Dr. Scott MacLeod), Rome, GA; one son, Dr. Bruce Eldon Holes (Debbie), Washington; one brother, Rev. Bill Younkins, Long Island, NY; one sister, Betty Spiropoulos (Jerry), Texas; four grandchildren, Lauren Long, Heather Jones, Craig Holes and Jennifer Seidner. A private family interment will be held at a later date in New Jersey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at the First Baptist Church, P.O.
