Mrs. Rubye Mae Kennedy Armour, 83, of Philomath Rd. in Rayle, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Echols Personal Care Home in Rayle. Mrs. Armour was born in Wilkes County and had lived there all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Boyce and Virginia Hammock Kennedy, and was the wife of John Thomas (Jack) Armour.She was a homemaker and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by a grandson, J.B. Armour II, and by a sister, Martha K. Hall. Mrs. Armour is survived by her husband, Jack Armour, of Rayle; four sons, Lyn Armour, and wife Debra, of Washington, Barry Armour, and wife Beth, of Lincolnton, Tracy Armour, and wife Denise, of Washington, and Greg Armour, and wife Angela, also of Washington; one sister, Joan K. Echols, of Rayle; twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, August 3, 2020, at Sardis Baptist Church in Rayle with Rev. Jim Newsome and Rev. Roy Cates officiating.Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service (10:00--11:00). Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church, c/o Pam Hall, 4915 Lexington Rd., Washington, GA30673. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
