Ruby Ray Chafin

Mrs. Ruby Ray Chafin, 82, of Rayle, died Monday evening, June 24, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Chafin was born in Greensboro, GA, but had lived in Wilkes County for most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Charles Emmett Ray and Eve Lou McCarthy Ray.She was the widow of Mr. Roy Chafin, and had been owner/operator of Chafin’s Store in Rayle for a number of years.She was a member of the Countyline Baptist Church in Rayle. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, at11:00 am at the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Smith, Eddie Smith, Danny Cosby, Ray Chandler, Jesus Chavez, and Enrique Chavez. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7pmtill 9pm at Hopkins Funeral Home.
