Roger Winkle

Mr. Roger Dean Winkle, 61, of Hill Street in Washington, was born February 18, 1959, and entered into rest at his home on Monday, January 18, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Roger was born in Tampa, Florida, and had lived in this community since 1994.He was the son of Allen and Thomasine Johnson Winkle, was one of six children, and was the husband of Libby Sexton Winkle. He was an electrician for RAI for 26 years.Mark, who works at RAI, sent a card that said “Roger was an exception to the saying ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth “Libby” S Winkle, of Washington; two sons, Jonathan Winkle, of Washington, and Keith Nunn, of Washington; one daughter, Stacie Nunn, of Greensboro; eight grandkids, Autumn, Whitney, Kayla, Tyler, Emily, Quinton, Clayton, and Caden; two brothers, Bobby Smith (Sheila), of Longview, TX, and Perry Winkle (Deann), of Trophy Club, Texas; and one sister, TK Sampson (Tommy), Rhome, TX. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the Sanctuary (1365 Tignall Rd., Washington, GA) with Rev. Alec George and Rev. J.D. Woodside officiating. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge.
