Robert Turner

Mr. Robert Lee Turner, Sr., 65, of Washington, died February 24, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Wilkes County and the son of Mary Wolfe Turner and the late H.L. Turner, Jr.He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Turner.Mr. Turner was a farmer raising poultry and swine and was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00pm in Fishing Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Roy Cates and Rev. Travis Huneycutt officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Brantley Blalock, Henry Holsenback, Ricky Huneycutt, Mike Wolfe, Eddie Tate and Lee Wolfe will serve as pallbearers and Brian Turner as honorary pallbearer. Survivors include his mother, Mary W. Turner, Tignall; one son, Robert L. Turner, Jr., Savannah; two daughters, Janet Turner Clayton, Tignall and Angela Turner Campbell, Waleska; one brother, Charles Turner, Washington; four grandchildren, Holly Treadway, Kristen Clayton, Joseph Campbell and Turner Campbell and one great grandchild, Terry Lee Treadway, III.
