Robert Chapman Barnett

Robert Chapman “Bud” Barnett, Jr., loving son, died November 15, 2016 at the age of 59.Mr. Barnett, born in Akron, Ohio, was the son of Robert C. Barnett, Sr., and Mary Budd Barnett of Aiken, SC. Mr. Barnett graduated with a degree in Geology from Indiana University in 1979 and spent most of his years living and working in Austin, Texas.While a student in the Master of Paleontology Program at the University of Texas, he discovered the skull and jaw of a 97 million year old Ichthyosaurs.His passions in life were archeology and paleontology.He relocated in Aiken, SC in 2012 to be near his family.He was the paternal grandson of Austin and Mamie Claire Barnett, and was the maternal grandson of Leslie and Florence Budd, of Massillon, Ohio. Survivors include his brother, John Barnett, of Norwich, NY; his sisters, Elizabeth (Chuck) Rikard, of Evans, GA, and Claire Barnett, of Elko, SC; his niece, Hilaire Rangos, of Paris, France, and his nephew, Christopher (Laura) Huerta, of Highlands, NC.
