Washington:Mr. Richard (Ricky) Henry McCarty, 63, of Branham Rd., died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at his residence. Ricky, also known to many friends and family as “Sunshine”, was born in Washington, Ga., and had lived here most of his life.He was the son of the late Alfred Henry “Bunch” McCarty and Judy M. McCarty, and was the husband of Pam Davis McCarty.He was preceded in death by his son, Bill McCarty, and by his sister, Angie Williamson. He was a retired lumber grader with International Paper, was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church (where he was an active Deacon), and was an avid fisherman. Mr. McCarty is survived by his wife, Pam D. McCarty, of Washington; three brothers, Randy McCarty, of Jackson, Tony Gilbert, of Stockbridge, and Mike Strickland (Sherry), of Flovilla; three sisters, Janice Kirkland, of Maryville, Tenn., Donna Bowles (David), of Covington, and Sandy Long (Marty), of Jackson. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Lou Riker officiating.Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, where Rev. Lou Ryker and Rev. Albert Huyck will officiate the committal service. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8pm, February 5, 2018, at Hopkins Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Peyton McGill, Dennis Bufford, Marty Echols, Crayton Young, Bobby Mills, and Frank Gay.Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Whittington, Hal Howard, Sr., Ricky Howard, Bob Kirkland, Johnny Talbert, and James Williford.Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church, c/o Teresa Burdette, 1568 Greensboro Rd., Washington, GA30673..
