Richard G. Petitpren

November 25, 1961 — December 1, 2023

Richard G. Petitpren, age 62, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.

He was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Shirley J. (Shanahan) Petitpren and the late Richard J. Petitpren.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard F. Petitpren; and brother, David Petitpren.

Rick loved working with his hands.  A talented musician, he enjoyed writing music and playing his guitar, and more importantly his dulcimer.  He was also a talented carpenter who loved building birdhouses, planter boxes, and his own furniture.  Rick was looking forward to filling up his newly constructed chicken coop.

He cherished his family and friends, and his special relationship with his coworkers and boss at Fareway Building Supplies.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Petitpren of Washington; sister, Diane Walsh (Mike) of Ferndale, Michigan and Deborah Meunier (Ed Thrash) of Washington; brother, Joseph Petitpren (Susan Underwood) of Mt. Clemens; and daughter, Cassie Edwards (Allen) of Frasier, Michigan.  He was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Skyler of New Baltimore, Michigan; and Karlee, Karter, Layla, and Lohgan, of Frasier, Michigan.  He is also survived by special cousins, Kathy Strickland, Jan Valentine (Jim), and Barbara Bunton, all of Florida; and nephews, Brian Pulliam and Keith Pulliam, both of Michigan.

Rick will be greatly missed by all who knew him and fondly remembered always.

He will be laid to rest at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2023 in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
