Mr. Paul Broome, 83, of Washington, Ga. passed away peacefully on October 4, 2018, at University Hospital. Mr. Broome was born in Washington on July 24, 1935 and had lived here all of his life.He was the son of the late Clyde and Mozelle Beckworth Broome, and the husband of Lisa Fain Broome.He was a local business man who owned and operated Broome Lumber Co. and was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church.He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict, andwas a member of VFW Post 5899 and American Legion. Mr. Broome is survived by his wife Lisa F. Broome, of Washington; two daughters,Courtney Broome of Washington, Jeanie (David) Buttgereit of Gold Canyon, AZ.;one son, Lyndon (Heewan) Broome of Grovetown;two brothers, Robert Broome of Washington, Johnny (Rachel) Broome of McCormick, SC.;five sisters,Amelia Ivey of Spartanburg, SC., Lulu (Frank) Howell of Athens, Mary Harris, Reba Howell and Lucy Harris of Washington;four grandchildren,Josh ( Lindsey)Broome , Jordan Johnson, Angela Broome and Daniel Broome;two great grandchildren Konner Broome and Hudson Broome. He was preceded in death by three sons, Gregory Broome, Richard Broome and Charlie Broome. A memorial service will be announced at a later date by Hopkins Funeral Home.
