Mrs. Patricia DanielBailey, 74, of Liberty St., died August 8, 2016, at her home. Private family services will be officiated by Rev. Mark Maddox. Ms. Bailey was born on September 12, 1941, in Gainesville, GA, and was the daughter of the late Olin Gibson Daniel and Annie Ruth Fulghum Daniel of Elberton.She was the widow of herhusband of 26 years, Mr. Billy Eugene Bailey.She moved to Washington in 1973 and had lived there for over 40 years.She had worked at the Mary Willis Library, at the Production Credit Association, and then at the UGA Cooperative Extension Service as the main secretary.She was an honor graduate of the Elbert County Comprehensive High School, and was a charter member of the Anchor Club at Elbert County High School. She loved typing and she did calligraphy for the Wilkes County Courthouse, the 4-H Club, the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, and for the Daughters of the American Revolution.She joined the DAR in 1974, and was their scrapbook chairman for four years.When she moved to Washington, she joined the First Baptist Church, and then moved her letter to the Rehoboth Baptist Church.Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Bailey, and by her sister, Joyce Daniel Bond. Ms. Bailey is survived by her son-in-law, John A. Busby, of Elberton; three grandchildren, Barron Fulghum Busby, Johna Raine Busby, and Triston Hayes Scott, all of Elberton.Two nieces, Merry Joyce Bond Tatum (Tommy), of Little Sand Mountain, and Camilla Ruth Bond Warren (Hugh Warren, Jr.), of Avondale Estates; and two great nieces, Katherine and Claire Warren, of Avondale Estates; and by her little poodle, Tracker. Memorials may be made to the Kettle Creek Chapter of the Wilkes County DAR, the Rehoboth Baptist Church General Fund, to Wills Memorial Hospital, or to the Wilkes County 4-H Club. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
