Olivia Mathews Davis Bruce

Mrs. Olivia Matthews Davis Bruce, 89, of Washington, entered into rest Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Harper’s Personal Care Home. Mrs. Bruce was born in Wilkes County, and had lived here most of her life.She was the daughter of John W. Matthews and Nell Flynt Matthews, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Washington Chapel.She will be greatly missed by her many friends and Staff at Harper’s Personal Care home. Mrs. Bruce is survived by her two sons, James Davis, and wife Lillie, of Washington, and Mike Davis, and wife Pam, of Washington; three sisters, Mary M. Kilpatrick, of Woodstock, Peggy M. Ward, of Woodstock, and Martha M. Echols, of Washington; nine grandchildren, Jamie Anderson, Julie Yancey, Jann Davis, Sheila Wheatley, Melissa O’Neill, Tracy Davis, Crystal Wheatley, Rebecca McDonald, and Meredith Marlowe; seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by a daughter, Olivia Anne Davis, and by a sister, Ophelia M. Baker. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
