Mrs. Norma Charlene Scott Street, 81, of Appling, entered into rest on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Street was born in Wilkes County, was the daughter of the late Charlie and Reba Rousey Scott, and was the widow of John Franklin Street, Jr. She graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School in 1960, and graduated from Bolens Business College in Augusta. She loved keeping up with her classmates, loved her class reunions and most any kind of gathering. She was very patriotic, loved celebrating the Fourth of July and Christmas because they were times the family would get together. She was also still a member of the Washington First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Street is survived by two sons, John Street and Charlie Street, both of Appling; one daughter, Shannon Whitaker (Jason), of McCormick, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jason Whitaker, Jr., Scott Whitaker, Caleb Whitaker, and Sarah Street. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dixie Lee Scott Holt.
Funeral services will be 2:30p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Fernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Whitaker, Jr., Scott Whitaker, Caleb Whitaker, Charlie Street, John Street, and Jason Whitaker.
