Myranda Lee Mattox, age 41, left this life on Friday, February 12, 2016 to spend eternity with her Lord. Myranda was born in Elberton, GA on Augusta 17, 1974 to the most loving and devoted parents, Zelma and Ray Mattox. Her life here was different than most, due to the condition of Rett Syndrome. She had severe limitations and could not walk or talk and was dependent upon her parents for total care and they devoted their whole lives to caring for her every need. Awaiting her in glory are her mother, Zelma Lee Mattox, a brother, Kevin Ray Mattox and a niece, Ashley Michelle Bond. Myrnada was dearly loved and will be terribly missed by her father, Ray Mattox; sister and brother-in-law, Jeneine and Gary Bond. Nieces and Nephews,Brittany Shelnutt (Zach Fields), Christie (Steven) Phillips, andRegis (Lydia) Bond.Great nieces and nephews, Landon and Olivia Fields, Amelia and Elliot Phillips, William and Asher Bond; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held at Hopkins Funeral Home on Monday, February 15 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be held at Bethany Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m.with Rev. Albert Huyck and Rev. Jim Olds officiating. Pallbearers include Morris Mattox, Morgan Noggle, Zachary Fields and Steven Phillips. The family would like to express special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Stephen Wilde and also the staff of Comer Health and Rehab for the kindness and dignity they showed in taking care of Myranda during the last few years of her life.
