Myra Ruth Edwards Maxwell

Mrs. Myra Ruth Edwards Maxwell, 81, of Greensboro Rd., entered into rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, with her husband Corrie at her side. Mrs. Maxwell was born in Wilkes County and had lived here most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Glenn Y. Edwards and Thelma Fouche Edwards, and she was the wife of Corrie L. Maxwell.She was a secretary in the family insurance business, and was a member of the Phillips Mill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Corrie L. Maxwell, of Washington; one son, Mike Maxwell (Jan), of Evans; one daughter, Deanne M. Crook, of Washington; one brother, James Roy Edwards (Marion), of Social Circle; and three grandchildren, Sarah Maxwell, Kathryn Maxwell, and Miranda Crook. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the Phillips Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Woods officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service (1:00pm - 2:00pm). Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
