Mitzie Fanning Vinson, 74, of Wills Memorial Dr., entered into rest on Sunday, June 26, at the Savannah Court Assisted Living Center in Greensboro, Ga.
Ms. Vinson was born in Washington, and had lived there all of her life. She was the daughter of the late James Fanning and Clarice Combs Fanning Tyler, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Lawrence Tracy Vinson and Lewis Albert Clough, Jr. She worked at the Farmers Home Administration and later worked as an assistant to the Wilkes County Clerk of Court. She was also a member of the Washington First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Tracie Smith (Martin), of Greensboro; two sons, Larry Vinson, of Martinez, and Matthew Clough (Teresa), Fountain Inn, S.C.; and by seven grandchildren; Summer Gaudry, Hope Ashley Daniell, Cheyenne Parker, Emma Clough, David Luke Vinson, Ryan Clough, and Cabe Vinson.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian George officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, at Hopkins Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service. (from 2:00-2:55 p.m.)
