Mary Thompson Street

Mrs. Mary Thompson Street, 79, of Melbourne Beach, Florida passed away April 20, 2012.Mary was born September 17, 1932 in Washington, Georgia. She was the daughter of Lawson and Maxie Thompson.Mary majored in Education at the University of Georgia and met her husband of 55 years, Emory Eugene Street, while teaching in Atlanta. After retiring from their careers, Mary and Emory flew all around North America in their small plane. Mary was a valuable crewmember, assisting her private pilot husband with navigation, handling the radio and going over checklists.This was one of the best periods of their lives. Mary is survived by her husband, Emory; two children, daughter, Janet of Paris, France and son Phillip (and his wife M.R.) of Tallahassee; two grandchildren, Allison and Derek Street of Tallahassee; brother, James (”Brother”) Thompson of New York City;and sister Barbara Dean of Atlanta.She was predeceased by her parents and brother William (“Bill”) Thompson. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 30th at 3:00pm in Resthaven Cemetery.
