Mary Frances Reed

Mrs. Mary Frances Chafin Reed, 84, of 806 E. Sheraton Dr., entered into rest Saturday morning, October 1, 2022, at the Quiet Oaks Health Care Center in Crawford, Ga.

Mrs. Reed was born in Washington, GA, and had lived here for all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Austin K. Chafin and Elmira Patterson Chafin, and was the wife of John Henry Reed.  She was the  manager of the Cato Dress Store in Washington for a number of years, and was a longtime member of the Washington Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John H. Reed, presently of Quiet Oaks Health Care Center in Crawford(but formerly of Washington); one son, Kelly Reed, of Roswell; and by two sisters, Joyce C. Brown, of Sharon, and Kay C. Lokey, of Thomson; and she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Gassaway.  The family would like to acknowlege her loving caregivers , Mary Bowers, Freddie Mae Campbell,  and Mrs. Neeley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Barnes, Doug Stapleton and Jason Wallace.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating.  The family plans to receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service.
