Mary Harriet Ramey Darden

Mary Harriet Ramey Darden, 86, died May 14, 2020.A life-long resident of Taliaferro County in the Raytown community, Mrs. Darden was the daughter of the late Quillian Melvin Ramey and Katherine Powell Ramey, formerly of Washington, GA.She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Henry Darden; brother, James M. Ramey; and sister, Sarah Agnes Peel. Mrs. Darden retired in 1996 after serving 20 years as the Taliaferro County Clerk of Court, and prior to 1976 as owner and operator of Darden’s Beauty Salon in Crawfordville. She is survived by her daughter, Patti and son-in-law, Michael W. Orr of Hull; grandson, Jackson Darden Orr, of Front Royal, Virginia; sister, Mildred R. Peeler, of Washington, and a number of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.Due to the current health concerns, a private graveside service will be held with Rev. Jim Newsome officiating.The family appreciates your understanding during this time.She will be interred next to her husband of 59 years at the Sharon Catholic Cemetery of the Blessed Virgin Church of the Purification in Sharon, Ga. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be donated to the Raytown Baptist Church, 4641 Raytown Rd.
