Mrs. Martha Jackson Stout Hopkins, 81, of Bogart (formerly of Washington), passed away Tuesday morning, September 22, 2020, at her son’s home in Bogart. Mrs. Hopkins was born in Washington, where she had lived most of her life.She was the daughter of the late Harvey Jackson, Sr. and Eva Shivers Jackson.She was twice married, first to Bob Stout, and was the widow of Roger Hopkins. She had been an account manager at the Edwards Loan Co. in Washington for a number of years, and had also worked at ALMAR Manufacturing Co.She graduated from the Washington-Wilkes High School, where she starred in tennis and other sports.She was the girls Georgia State High School Tennis champion, which earned her a spot in the Wilkes County Sports Hall of Fame.Martha was a longtime member of the Washington First United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Grant Stout, and wife Vickie, of Bogart, and Keith Stout, and wife Chris, of Carl, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Jackson Stout, Kevin Stout (Caroline), Jeremiah Pina (Ester), Jason Pina, Kaelan Stout (Diana), Jenna Stout Meek (Jeff), and Jade S. Baker (Chris); and seven great grandchildren. Memorial services will be 11:00am Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Hopkins Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the committal service at Resthaven Cemetery. Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
