Martha Shedd Davis

Mrs. Martha Shedd Davis, 79, passed away Thursday evening, December 22, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. Mrs. Davis was born in Walhalla, SC, and had lived in Wilkes County all of her life.She was the daughter of the late Jim and Heppie Mae Owens Shedd, and was the widow of Mr. Jack Davis.She was the owner/operator of Martha’s Cleaning Service, and was a member of the Harvest Time Christian Center. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by five siblings, James Shedd, Coley Shedd. Roy Shedd, Tommy Shedd, and Helen S.Truitt. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie D. Harrington, of Athens; two sons, Don Davis (Kathy), of Danielsville, and Phil Davis (Sonya), of Carlton; four grandchildren, Ashley Camille Harrington, Alicia Adams, Amanda Thornton, and Paul Brandon Davis; six great grandchildren, Dakota Thornton, Colton Thornton, Kaytlin Thornton, Kyla Davis, Jackson Davis, and Levi Adams; one sister, Margie Thurmond, Washington; and two brothers, Johnny Shedd, of Rayle, and Bobby Shedd, of Hampton. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the Harvest Time Christian Center. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 27, 2016, from 6-8pm at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Time Christian Center in Washington.
